Introduction
We all know the Great Depression was a time period in the United States when everything went wrong. Many people became greedy, and were too invested with money. That resulted into the Great Depression because of the economy went bad and banks started to close. Millions of people became homeless and were looking for jobs. Thankfully, Elzie Segar created the well known animated character we know today, Popeye the Sailor man. During the 1930's Popeye was a character that many looked up too. He was a strong man and had strong morals. He fought for what was right, and many Americans wanted to be like him. They wanted to fight for their justice but it was just too difficult. Popeye was only a cartoon character, and many people had to realize that the Great Depression was a reality, and they could not just turn their life into a cartoon.
